We envision a Europe where no family is left behind. Through Building Bridges, six dedicated organizations across Ireland, Italy, Austria, Romania and the Netherlands are creating spaces where parents from different backgrounds can connect, learn and flourish. We’re building vibrant communities where diversity is celebrated, voices are heard, and families discover their power to shape a more inclusive society. Together, we’re turning isolation into connection and barriers into bridges.
What we are creating
Building Bridges delivers practical, accessible resources designed through collaborative research and testing across six European countries, ensuring they address real needs and can be easily implemented in diverse contexts.
Play, Connect and Learn Programme
Interactive workshops that bring families together while identifying specific challenges parents face. This research-based approach informs all our resources while fostering natural integration through shared activities.
Practitioner Support Toolkit
A comprehensive, culturally-sensitive guide with practical activities, methodologies, and support materials that empower educators and family practitioners to develop effective peer-led support programs that respond to families’ actual needs.
Parent Pedagogy Programme
A 6-module curriculum designed for parents facing integration challenges, offered through both a comprehensive online platform and an innovative WhatsApp format for maximum accessibility, addressing mental health, communication, and parenting in new communities.
Whatsapp Learning Community
Learning WhatsApp groups that break down technology barriers, allowing parents to access bite-sized learning content, connect with peers, and receive support directly on their phones, meeting families where they are with the information they need.
